  7. yeah I already knew that, but I’m just saying that in my opinion, featuring on the Twilight soundtrack doesn’t give or take from the beauty of the song.

  8. kristin stewart who plays bella actually chose this song personally to be on the soundtrack, and for the prom scene….this shows her excellent taste in music.

  9. okay I’ve decided that I think this song is way too good to be on the Twilight movie. Just my opinion.

  10. Good lord, Iron and Wine has a whole bunch of idiot fans. Good music though.

  11. This song is gorgeous in its own essence, with or without Twilight. I kind of get annoyed with the Twilight comparisons, even though I love Twilight myself, but this song is beautiful on its own. I heart iron wine.

  12. I think the song is extremely wonderful. Yes its on the Twlight Soundtrack, and I’ve been talking about how I think it was a right fit for the movie – but in no way is that the ONLY reason that I like it. Sam Beam is genius.

  13. i **** when the stuff i love gets popular.

i wish i could have it all to myself.

    selfish, but rightfully.

  14. This song is about the state of the USA and in particular the innoncence and integrity that America has lost of its yesteryears, and the bitter ‘pill’ it is currrently swallowing. Such a beautiful tune and magical lyrics to a terrible situation.

  16. I kind of agree, but if it helps bring some much needed attention to how great Sam Beam is, then I’ll take it. We can’t hog him all to ourselves haha.

  17. This is just an amazing song.
I sort of wish it weren’t on the Twilight soundtrack- now people are going to love it just because it’s about Bella/Edward, and not because it’s wonderful.

  20. Love story as in – those first days, weeks, and months of finding someone you are completely in love with and how those moments fill so exciting like a carnival or fair. And when Edward tried to break away from Bella because it was the right and just thing to do (cops close the fair) he couldn’t. He decided that it was time to make the decision to go for what he wanted regardless of consequences (cutting baby hair) and be with her every moment he could (even if she didn’t know it at first).

  22. In the first verse he’s a boy, wide eyed, adventurous (”Dog-eared map…”) Then he grew up, and became just another working adult. At least that’s my take. You can easily weave a love story into that meaning, though, if you want to. :D

  23. I completely agree!!! I heard the original and the one on the twilight soundtrack and just acoustically sounds WAY better and sweeter!!

  24. I think it sounds sweeter live (just him singing and the guitar)!
