  1. i love this version compared to either nina simone or elkie brooks version.

this version just really captures the true emotion of the song, i think it’s buckleys best.

  7. the reason he is legendary is because it kicks ass, and of course untimely death always adds to a persons legacy…

bob marley, kurt cobain, john lennon, jimi hendrix etc…

  8. whether he is a legend or not doesnt really matter, its just our individual opinion, its my opinion that he was a brilliant guitar player and an amazing singer, but i dont say that i am right and other opinions are wrong

  9. “If he had not died so young would he be such a legend? dont think sooooooooo.Nina Simone Elkie Brooks are real legends….”

There is the post which I was commenting on.
Note that I never once directly implied any belief on my part that Jeff Buckley is a “legend”. He is simply one of my favourite musicians. I have a right to say -that- regardless of my level of education which you seem so overly concerned with.
Oh, and the only reason he was great was because… he was great. And still is.

  12. Such a voice! naa i don’t think he would have the same kind of following he has now had he not died. But damn, they don’t make many like him. The voice is great. The guitar skills are nice too :)

  13. J’adore cette chanson, elle me file la chair de poule; et encore plus trippante que la version par Nina Simone. Merci, Harry, de me l’avoir fait découvrir. Je t’aime

  14. hi: i don’t understand everything you wrote, but in thought you might find this interesting: in an interview jeff buckley referred to himself as a “chanteuse with a *****.” i guess he was joking about his high voice. good sense of humor, i would say.

  15. that’s funny!

  16. you are correct in saying that JB was amazing. he also had one hell of a voice. never mind slickwillie. my guess he can only speak one language. and bad manners—yeah, he’s got them too. back to JB–it’s emotion that he taps into. just like his dad tim buckley. “emersonblues” posts the best version of hallelujah–in my opinion. the voice and the guitar are exquisite. 18 months ago i discovered TB on this site and for 2 solid months i balled my eyes out listening to lilac wine every day.

  17. So you’re saying he’s a “fake” legend as opposed to a “real” one?

I could use some clarification here.

  18. thank you. at least someone acknowledges true talent when they hear it. slickwillie1947 is a **** weed. what so artists that are still alive today arent legends? i think not. and why do you slag artists off when all you can do all day is sit on youtube and watch them, i dont see you doing anything valuble with your life. Sorry for reacting this way but honestly Jeff Buckly was legendary, his musical composition was imaculate and he created original ties into these songs. get over yuurself.

  19. oh,ok! sorry, then. yes, of course.. he wasn’t the best, but he was amazing.

  21. hey! haha, it’s funny your comment.. do you think that somebody can become a great talent for to die young? i think that no, if you dies young and you haven’t talent.. you will be forget, no more.. well.. and if you think that he was a Ok singer.. it’s your opinion.. but i want to say that when i listen his “hallelujah”.. the last thing that i would say it’s that he was a ok singer.. for me, one of the best voices.. PD: sorry for my english, it’s bad, i know.. hehe!
